YOKAIOSCOPE
Yokai lives in the gray zone between fact and fiction, between belief and doubt. Yokai begins where the language ends, mysterious sounds are heard and light can be seen without light sources.
The world of Yōkai includes ghosts, gods, transformed humans and animals, spirit possession, urban legends, and other strange phenomena. It is a broad and vague term, and nothing exists in the English language that quite describes it.
Yokai are found on the outskirts of the city, or in the woods between villages, or in small rivers that run between fields. They often appear at dusk, when the familiar seems strange and the faces are blurry. They exist at bridges and tunnels, entrances and thresholds. They fool at intersections.
